Finished the painting. FYI I am TRYING to make work in a more "painterly" style and to NOT bog down in the details. Although I will still paint like that I'm sure.
Meanwhile, I'm pretty happy with how this one came out.

I decided to work on a different painting today and made good progress.
While I was searching for a reference photo I had an idea (or two) for future projects. I then spent a good hour doing research online. Who knows if anything will come of it, but I've done the footwork already.

I started painting today and didn't like where it was going so I wiped most of it off. Then I modified the support some more. I'll try again tomorrow.
Here's the sketch I did yesterday, NOT from imagination, totally based on a photo from the web.

Ok, this last weekend was a little weird. I forgot to post an update TWICE! Must be "there is still snow on the ground Spring Fever" or some such.
On Day 78 I did most of the painting trying a newish technique.
Today (Day 79) I did finessing and touch ups to complete the painting. It's another one I promised at RTX.

I've been watching Red Vs Blue since season one. So I'm looking for fellow fans in the Syracuse NY area-message me!
Fun stuff I've stolen from other websites.

Draw everyday. Draw quickly. Don't expect every drawing to be a masterpiece, most of them will be awful. Learn from what doesn't work. Draw anything and everything.

I think by foot and by watercraft as there are a lot more waterways than there are rail road tracks. That would allow me access to more places without have to walk so far. But if I wanted to only travel from city to city I'd definitely go by train and by foot.
Totally didn't see the question so sorry for the very late response.
Man, so many memories it's hard to pick a favorite one....maybe sitting on the flight deck at the front of the carrier with my legs dangling over the bow as we finished transiting the Suez Canal north and re-entered the Med after a very long, hot time in the Persian Gulf.

Well my profile picture is a little different. It's a digital combination of two paintings I did. One is an abstract (the orange and purple bits) and one an un-self portrait of me in a burnoose. I call it a un-self portrait because the instructor made me do a self portrait and I didn't want to so I took my glasses off, wrapped my head and face in the burnoose and looked in a mirror and painted away blurry vision and all. It actually came out pretty good.
Unless your'e asking about the holiday one in which case Christmas!
It's still Red Vs Blue.
I'm enjoying RWBY (although I'm not as emotionally invested in it as some people). I like the Let's Plays in Achievement Hunter (GTA and Minecraft particularly). Oh, and RTAA, I LOVE what Jordan does with deceptively "simple" animation.

Good question! I definitely plan the more complicated paintings and think about how I'm going to go about the process and how I want the finished piece to look. For one person portraits I'm more spontaneous and open to happy accidents.
