Took advantage of both this past weekend and a slow work day yesterday to lay the groundwork on the next big step of Cursed Seasons. Under the hood, the game is now structured into "run states", which is basically what's going on in the Rogue-lite structure. When you load up Cursed Seasons, you start in this "pre-game" state of existence on a spiritual plane. Eventually, there'll be a gathering of playable characters to choose from, but for now there's just the altar to activate and begin your new journey on the run itself.
Next there's the issue of disabling interaction among most objects. I'd like to allow dialogue and maybe entering certain structures on the farm to view progress from a past life. After that, I'd like to move onto the other end of things: the Game Over state displaying all you've lost along with some accomplishments. With both of these done, I should be in a nice position for getting proper saving/loading implemented and eventually some actual menus. Everything's going real good.
