ROOSTER TEETH COMMUNITY HELPS RAISE OVER $340,000 FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK
Austin, TX – Monday, November 11, 2013 – Rooster Teeth Productions is proud to announce that they have reached and exceeded their goal for the annual Extra Life fundraising event, a 24-hour video game marathon to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. With the help and support of Rooster Teeth’s staff and worldwide fan community, Rooster Teeth was named the top fundraising team, gathering roughly $180,000 in donations during the 24-hour event. In addition, the Rooster Teeth team sold 15,000 limited edition Achievement Hunter posters, helping to increase total contributions to over $340,000.
“We have an amazing community that finds new ways to inspire us every single day, but their generosity during the Extra Life event was just completely astounding. We're so thankful to them for embracing this cause and doing so much good for kids in Central Texas,†said Matt Hullum, Rooster Teeth Productions CEO and Co-Founder.
Rooster Teeth Productions’ 2013 mission for Extra Life was to raise money for Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas as they are in dire need of a Magneto-Encephalography Device (MEG). An MEG device will have an enormous impact on treating children suffering from brain tumors, epilepsy, head traumas, and even autism. This device will be the first to exist in any hospital in Central Texas.
“It's always special to be able to help children locally and with the incredible enthusiasm of the crew and our community, we were able to do just that. The response from the team from Extra Life and the Dell Children's Hospital has been overwhelming and I couldn't be prouder,†said Jack Pattillo, Rooster Teeth Productions Senior Producer.
On November 2nd, Burnie Burns, Jack Pattillo, Caleb Denecour, Barbara Dunkelman and many others at Rooster Teeth participated in the annual 24-hour gaming marathon to raise money towards the Rooster Teeth fundraising goal. The event was streamed live from the Rooster Teeth podcast set for fans and community members.
The Rooster Teeth staff will present a check for $343,370.92 to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas executives during the Xbox One launch event on November 21st at the Microsoft Store at The Domain in North Austin.
